USS Sand Lance is a permit class attack submarine, and is a favorite of mine. When I got my first computer I used to play a game called "North Atlantic 86" about naval war in WW III. It was a simple game with no graphics. For some reason nearly every time I played USS Sand Lance was a killer sub! The game would send you messages like. "Soviet sub detected"...... "USS Sand Lance fires SUBROC"..... "Echo II class sub is sinking". It seems like Sand Lance would end up with 4 or 5 kills per game, so, here she is!! This "kit" is from Blue Water Navy as was one of their pre-molded dioramas (USS Hammerhead), just add paint. Well, actually there are 5 parts molded in resin and white metal, 2 periscopes, 2 diving planes, and the main hull/water part. No decals. Painting was testors flat black from a spray can and the ocean.... oops, North Atlantic, was done with artist oils. Fast and Easy!
